At the heart of this '85 W350 sits a Common Rail 5.9L Cummins, giving this first gen the reliability and power of a modern diesel platform. We paired it with an NV5600 6-speed manual transmission and a Valair dual disc clutch with full hydraulics to handle everything this engine puts down. The whole swap rides on FFS engine mounts, designed specifically for a clean and solid fit.

On the fuel and turbo side, we went with DDP 100% over injectors and a DDP 12mm CP3 injection pump to keep up with airflow demand. Feeding that air is a Stainless Diesel S468 turbo sitting on top of a Stainless Diesel exhaust manifold — a combination built for big, consistent power without sacrificing streetability.

Up front, we ran an FFS 1G-to-3G front axle conversion to bring modern steering geometry and strength to the first gen platform. That's supported by an FFS front four link, FFS steering kit, and an FFS steering box brace to keep everything tight and predictable. Out back, we installed an FFS bolt-on traction bar kit to plant the rear end under load, and swapped in a 3rd gen AAM rear axle for the strength this build demands.

The whole truck rolls on 22" Alcoa milled wheels wrapped in Falken RT01s at 35/12.50R22 — a setup that looks right and performs even better.
